Another old infrared, from 1996. This can’t be reshot, as that near hedge is now a big shelter belt! Taken just outside Lake Tekapo.

Poranui Surf Panorama

Ruin, Mount Ross Station

We’ve been going through our old negatives, scanning some old favourites and reproducing the printing we did in the darkroom. This is an infrared from Easter 1996, taken on a Rangiora Photographic Society trip to Mount Ross Station, near Middlemarch, Otago. This shot was printed with partial enlarger diffusion and sepia toned, and did quite well in competitions, including an award in a PSNZ magazine comp.

Another shot from last Saturday, as the mist thickened. Amazing light and big surf – quite a morning!

A Fresh Start

Poranui Beach Before Dawn

Poranui Beach Before Dawn

We’re well settled in the new house, so maybe it’s time to get blogging again. It was a clear, sharp morning so we wandered down to the beach with cameras. A low sea mist was creeping in, and the surf was quite heavy as the sky started to lighten. This shot was taken half an hour before sunrise, before the mist got very thick.
